What Happens When You Die

Recently I was talking with a friend and she asked me, what happens when you die? What’s it like? I said, no one really knows for sure, but I think when we die a certain blindness is lifted from us and we see more clearly than we ever thought possible.
The first thing we see is all the love that we’ve ever shared, with anyone or anything.  That somehow we enter into that love and live there forever because love is the only thing that never fails.  Love is eternal.  And from that love we will understand things that didn’t make sense before.  We’ll see the difference we’ve made in the lives of those we love, how they changed us and made us better.  How our love changed them and helped them to be the best.  It will be every good magnified by the brightness of God’s love.  Anything and everything that held us back will be gone, the fear, pain, suffering, death… we’ll be free of it all forever.  The power of this love will be so great that it will sustain us forever because we’ll see how this love is and always was connected to God.  That we are actually living with Him in that love and He is living with us.  So although we can’t know exactly what heaven will be like, we do know that every moment of love is preparing us to be a blazing torch in heaven - which is our true and eternal home.  When we get there, what an eternity it will be!
